Curriculum Vitae:
Please upload your resume, which should include both full-time, post-college work experience and educational information. Internships, other part-time employment, extra-curricular activities or volunteer activities may be included.

Recommendation Letter:
You are required to submit two professional recommendations with your application.
• One recommendation must come from your current supervisor. If you cannot include a recommendation from your current supervisor, you must provide an explanation in the optional essay in the online application.
• Recommendations should come from individuals who can objectively assess your professional performance and your potential for success in NYU Stern's MBA program and in your future career.
• Professional recommendations are strongly preferred.
• Recommendations from family members, family friends and close friends are discouraged.
• Submitting more than two recommendations is not encouraged but is allowed. Please carefully consider whether additional recommendations add significant value and a new and unique perspective to your application. Professional Recommendation Questions
Your recommenders will be asked to rate you on a number of professional abilities and qualities, as well as provide an answer to these four questions:
• Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant's role in your organization.
• How does the applicant's performance compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? Please provide specific examples. (E.g. what are the applicant's principal strengths?)
• Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.
• (Optional) Is there anything else we should know?

Your recommenders may answer these questions in the recommendation form or by uploading a Word or PDF document.

Recommendations must be submitted online
• If your recommender cannot submit an online recommendation, you must email sternmba@stern.nyu.edu to explain the circumstances and request approval for your recommender to submit a paper recommendation.
• If your recommender cannot complete a recommendation in English, he or she will need to complete a paper recommendation, following the instructions above, and have it translated into English. A certified English translation through a translating service must be obtained and submitted in a sealed envelope with the original recommendation, endorsed across the seal.


Essays:
Our Stern essay questions give you the opportunity to more fully present yourself to the Admissions Committee and to provide insight into your experiences, goals and thought processes.

Please note the following details when completing your essays.
Written essays must be submitted using double-spacing and 12-point font.
Your response to Essay 1 should answer all parts of the question with a total maximum of 750 words.
Your essays should be written entirely by you. An offer of admission will be revoked if you did not write your essays.

Why pursue an MBA (or dual degree) at this point in your life?
What actions have you taken to determine that NYU Stern is the best fit for your MBA experience?
What do you see yourself doing professionally upon graduation?
Essay 2: Personal Expression
Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g. words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative.

Please note the following guidelines and restrictions:

Your submission becomes the property of NYU Stern and cannot be returned for any reason.
Written Submission: The essay should be 500 words maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font.
Video/Audio Submission: If you submit a video or audio file, it should be five minutes maximum, and the file should be uploaded to a video/audio hosting website. You must include the URL, along with a brief description of the video/audio piece, in a Word or PDF document with your online application. Do not mail a USB or DVD to our office. The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request an alternate essay if we are unable to view your submission.
Physical Submission: If you submit a physical piece for this essay (e.g. artwork), you must include a Word or PDF document with a photo and a brief description of your submission with your online application and note the following:
Do not submit anything perishable (e.g. food), or any item that has been worn (e.g. clothing).
Mailed materials must be postmarked by the application deadline date. Please follow our mail and labeling instructions.
Mailed packages are subject to the size restrictions below. Submissions that exceed the stated size restrictions will not be accepted for review by the Admissions Committee.

Please provide any additional information that you would like to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee. This may include current or past gaps in employment, further explanation of your undergraduate record or self-reported academic transcript(s), plans to retake the GMAT, GRE, IELTS or TOEFL or any other relevant information.

To supplement your resume with key information about your career to date, you will be prompted to add employment information for all positions you have held via the "Add Position" function. You must include all full-time, post-college work experience. Internships and other part-time employment may be included.
