For processing purposes, you may attach scanned versions of official transcripts to your application. A printout from a student portal is NOT considered an official copy.
NOTE: Documents uploaded with your application are not considered official. KU does not consider transcripts that come from applicants or that have been in the applicant's possession as official.
For those who earned a degree from an institution outside the U.S., additional documents may be required to fulfill both the application and the enrollment requirement. Copies of official transcripts may be submitted with the application.
Curriculum Vitae:
A current curriculum vitae or resume that includes the following as a minimum:
a. Name, address, and date of birth
b. Citizenship and immigration status
c. Education history (degrees, institutions and dates)
d. Employment history
e. Honors and fellowships
f. Summary of languages studied and proficiency
g. International study and/or travel experience
h. Names and titles of three references
Personal Statement:
A personal statement of 500-750 words that describes:
a. Your goals for graduate study
b. Pertinent preparation and experience
c. Your long-term professional goals
Recommendation Letter:
Three letters of recommendation with the appropriate waiver form
Writing Sample:
A Spanish writing sample (for both M.A. and Ph.D. applicants)
