Transcript: Two (2) official copies of transcripts in original language (with official translated copies if applicable) from all post-secondary institutions attended, in SEALED envelopes. Please note, to be considered "official" transcripts must be sent DIRECTLY by the institution attended, or the official translator. Official transcripts should be sent to the Graduate Administrator in Linguistics. Personal Statement: A Statement of Research in which you summarize your background and specific research interest in Linguistics, and identify any potential supervisors from the list of Potential Research Areas and Supervisors. The statement should be no more than one page. It should be noted that the one-page limit is strictly enforced in the University of Calgary's Open Scholarship competition. If the Statement of Research exceeds this page limit and the applicant would like to be considered for a scholarship, a one-page version must also be included for the competition. Recommendation Letter: Three references (submitted by your referees on-line) Writing Sample: A sample of your previous work in linguistics or a related field. This could take the form of a published article, M.A. thesis, undergraduate thesis, or a course paper.
