Personal Statement:
Include your interests, career goals, and reason for applying to the program. Describe academic as well as professional preparation. Be specific when describing your areas of interest. (500 words maximum)
Recommendation Letter:
Recommendations should come from 3 individuals who can speak most directly about your ability to complete graduate level coursework & teaching duties. These individuals can be from your educational or professional background. You may choose to have either an electronic or paper recommendation submitted; however, electronic is preferred.
Portfolio:
Include a minimum of 5 examples of your creative work. This can be architectural, artistic, craft, photography or any medium that helps us understand how you connect your thinking and making. Digital submission (PDF or website) is required. When you reach the last page of your admission application, you may upload your portfolio with a maximum size of 20 MB. If your portfolio is website-based, please upload a PDF document that indicates the website where your portfolio may be viewed.
Research Proposal:
Please submit a research prospectus of 3-5 pages detailing your proposed area of study, the question you seek to address, a preliminary methodology, and a bibliography of relevant literature.
You should discuss your proposal with a member of the Department Faculty prior to application. The Admissions committee will take into account that faculty member’s recommendation in their decision regarding admission
