背景偏好：1.A first class, or upper second class, honours degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a cognate discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geology)
2.Evidence of good mathematical and computational skills as applied to civil and geotechnical engineering problems
3.Appreciation of design methods for offshore foundations
4.Enthusiasm to undertake the research required for a doctorate
5.Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
6.Excellent record of academic and/or professional achievement

The following are desirable but not essential:

7.Detailed knowledge of geotechnical engineering
8.Specialist skills such as use of FE programs or laboratory based work
9.Evidence of high self-motivation and good organisational skills
10.Interpersonal skills necessary to contribute effectively in a large research group.
